What is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Hair Removal?
Intense pulsed light hair removal uses light energy to easily and quickly remove hair.
It stimulates the pore and reduces the appearance of hair progressively.
It penetrates without damaging the other structures of the skin, reaching the root of the hair to be able to remove it completely.
This hair removal is done through selective photothermolysis, that is, by applying heat (up to 70°C) to the base of the hair follicle to burn it, thanks to the fact that the light is absorbed by melanin, which is the cellular pigment that gives color to the hair and skin.
IPL devices emit bursts of light, in a flash-like manner, with a xenon lamp. But, unlike lasers, it has a variable wavelength that allows the device to be configured to match the characteristics of the hair and skin of each patient.
Another important difference compared to lasers is that the light emission is not concentrated in a single point, but comes out in different directions, allowing it to cover a larger surface area of skin with each shot.
